My wife and I moved to Bound Brook in 2016 when we bought our first home. Halloween has always been our favorite holiday, so much so that we were married On Devil’s Night which is the day before Halloween.

We have always decorated for the holiday, but living in an apartment building in Queens, New York for many years, we were limited in what we could attempt. As we approached our first Halloween in our new home, we decided to attempt something over the top.

It started out with an idea… what would it be like if for every day of October we put out a life-size skeleton on our front lawn? By Halloween we’d have 31 Skeletons for all the trick-or-treaters to see! An idea became action and 31 Skeletons was born.

What started to happen through the first few years of 31 Skeletons was the fact that we were putting out MORE than 31 skeletons each season. So we decided to not limit ourselves anymore. We changed our website to TheSkeletonHouse.org because that’s what all the kids in our neighborhood called us…. “Did you see The Skeleton House?!” We took away all limits… we had almost 50 full-size Skeletons last year, not to mention 12 foot skeletons, horses, carriages and more…

We continue to document the madness with this blog… 9 years and still going strong!

As Ferris Bueller once said… “You Can Never Go Too Far…”
